Within our local community, several political candidates were gearing up for elections in our riding. A note of advice, many of the candidates throw info sessions and casual bbq’s to attract attendance. So if you’re feeling strapped for food, it’s always helpful to show some support to the local party and score some free grub.
Every time Goodlife Fitness opens a new branch, an opening party is held and welcoming everyone. In this case, a new location near my house cropped up. As a current patron of Goodlife, I was curious to see this new location, and how they execute an opening party.
A young Asians entrepreneurs info session was held in my city, supporting students studying abroad in Canada. It was held in the home of the government official organizer, where 30+ students and several speakers attended.
My brother was invited to a workplace bowling social, and I attended as his plus one. The organization rented out 6 lanes and approximately 50 people showed up, mostly middle-aged people and their families.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the annual Grey to Green conference hosted in Toronto. Regular admission price was upwards of $100 but there were also student bursaries available. I wrote a 1-page cover letter as per the application and was happily selected to attend.
